Cabrillo Pier Fishing Program

The Pier Fishing Program offers a fun, annual, outdoor activity that allows local youth to enjoy nature. More than 800 youth participate in the seven-week program each year. It includes fishing, environmental education, and arts & crafts projects. One participant said, “This is the first time I have ever been fishing. I love it.” Throughout the program, participants become environmental stewards and bring home new insights into how to interact with nature. In cooperation with the Port of Los Angeles and other private donors, the LA Parks Foundation funds transportation and supplies for this popular, educational program.
