Werner Family Foundation Playground at Garcia Recreation Center:

Ramon Garcia Recreation Center has two new playgrounds! We celebrated the opening of the play structures with a community ribbon-cutting ceremony. This project was driven and made possible by our board member Jill Werner and the Werner Family Foundation, who donated $500,000 to bring world-class play structures to this beloved community recreation center in Boyle Heights. This monumental investment for  our city parks is a perfect example of the power of partnership. Completed in a record time of six months, the new structures are ADA-accessible and are geared toward children 2-12 years old. Now, children and families of all ages have a state-of-the-art facility where they can learn, laugh, and play.
